Hello and thank you for reading another article on bartvanderdoes.nl
The Open last week is finished and wow we have seen some fantastic golf over the week.
As The Open came to an end with an fantastic win for Lowry it was time for me to pack bags for Austria. I arrived on Monday the 22nd after almost 10.5 hour drive in Innsbruck-Igls. The views here are amazing I can tell you and so far I’ve been playing on some fantastic golf courses. First day I’ve been playing at Innsbruck-Igls where I hit some really awesome shots and made couple birdies too. I actually driven 2 PAR 4’s on green and was able to birdie both holes. Also all PAR 5’s I’ve hit drives over 330 meters. Yes you read it correctly. On the 17th hole PAR 5 I hitted a drive of 422 yards!
I think the last time I was flying these high numbers was at Crans Sur Sierre in Switzerland back in 2009. I must admit the air here high in the mountains makes you hitting it longer too compared in the Netherlands. But still, it’s such a joy watching the “hanging time” in the air when you hit shots like that! Thanks to Michael Raggl & Viktoria Kroll for making an great deal for having me to play the golf course. I will be sharing more inside details from the courses I played later on the week in an special blog post. Please come back often to see the latest updates on my website.
Yesterday 23rd I visited Olympia golf here in Igls. Home base for
Ladies European Tour player Christine Wolf who I meet couple times on
tour. She recommended me some great places in the area, so I’m looking
forward to those nice places and share with you all the great
adventures. In the evening I’ve been working on my shortgame and
improved my putting. So with that in mind I will keep my fingers crossed
for Mieming upcoming Wednesday.
Thanks for reading and see you soon on my next post.
